Half angel, half human, Michael Angelo has spent his immortal life protecting innocents against the denizens of Hell. Now he’s facing the fight of his life. A consortium of evil threatens the human plane. Partnered with a human female whose presence affects him in ways he never imagined, he faces the demonic plague even as he battles the demons within himself.
Mike slammed her into an alcove and pressed her against the wall with his body. Holding his huge hand across her mouth he whispered, “Go along with me.” Grinding his hips into her, he leaned down and planted his mouth over hers.
Fear and excitement rushed through her, stealing her breath. She gasped and was rewarded with an invasion of her mouth. Mike’s tongue slid across hers with practiced ease, enticing a moan from deep inside. Always up for a challenge, Mary Grace rushed to return the favor, dueling with him for entrance to his mouth. He gave up graciously, sucking on her lips and nipping lightly, following the slight pain up with soothing licks. Mary Grace lost her mind. She rubbed against his body and reached for him.
Grabbing both of her hands with one of his, he held them above her head while his other hand roamed freely over her body, seeking out and finding the most sensitive points, kneading and stroking. As he licked the rim of her ear he whispered, “We’re being watched. I have to mark you.” He slid his mouth down her neck, licking and sucking. He bit down hard enough to draw blood and she yelped. “That’s it, baby,” he said loudly, presumably for their audience. Glancing up at him she was amazed to see him bite his own lip until it bled. Lowering his mouth back to her neck, he rubbed his lip over her wound, mixing and smearing their combined blood. “It’s the next best thing to sex for marking you with my smell,” he whispered.
Mutt snarled and curled his lip back to bear his canines as the shadows coalesced into three men. The cop in her took note of their locations. They formed a V with two men slightly behind the leader. Moving like the predators they were, they closed the distance to stand directly behind Mike. Nostrils flaring, they leaned toward the couple.
Mike straightened, turning slowly and pushing Mary Grace behind him. She bristled inwardly at his protective gesture, but was smart enough not to say anything. “What do you want? Can’t you see I’m enjoying my woman?”
“What I see is new prey.” Nostrils flaring, the leader sniffed the air. “What I smell is human.” He reached a hand toward Mary Grace.
Mike moved with blurring speed. He grabbed the offending arm and spun the man back, hurling him into his companions. All three were back in seconds, baring canines of their own. “We want her,” one growled.
“I don’t care what you want. She’s mine.” Mary Grace had no idea where he’d been keeping it, but Mike produced a wicked looking blade nearly a foot long. “If you want to awaken the neighbors with the smell of your blood, come on. I’ll oblige you.”
The three glanced at one another. Without voicing a word they moved as one to melt back into the night.
“Come on,” he urged as he propelled her down the street.
“Not that I’m complaining, buy why’d they leave?”
“Vampires only have one natural enemy. Werecats. Guess whose neighborhood we’re in?”
Mary Grace craned her neck around to look behind her. “Those were really Vampires?”
Mike grunted something about them not being like the Hollywood wimps and took her arm to prevent any further delays. Mary Grace muttered that the Hollywood Vampires didn’t look like wimps to her. When he didn’t reply further she supposed he’d gotten the point. And she was pretty sure she didn’t want to see real Vampires in action if Lestat was a wimp.

Here’s an excerpt:
“Zack’s body is reacting with amazing speed. He has shown absolutely no signs of rejection. His nerve endings are regenerating so rapidly it explains the tingling and itching in his feet and hands.” He turned to face Zack. “Have you noticed any other changes? Even the slightest thing is important.”
Zack blushed. He actually blushed. “Well, Mr. Happy did stir a little when Chloe was kissing me.”
Kiki frowned. “Mr. Happy? Is this an American colloquialism?”
Now Chloe was blushing, too. “Not exactly. It’s a family term for… well, for a certain part of a man’s anatomy.”
Kiki’s brows shot up. “Ah. The penis.” He looked at Zack. “You’re sure? You experienced arousal?”
“I wouldn’t be all that optimistic. I didn’t exactly make the sheet tent up. But I did get a rush.”
“This is wonderful.”
“You’re telling me.”
Kiki closed the chart and tucked it beneath his arm. “I’m returning to the lab. I want to run a few tests.”
“Need any help?”
“No, no. You stay here and see if you can’t aid in the recovery of Zack,” he chuckled, “and Mr. Happy.”
Chloe leaned against the door after he’d left, her arms crossed over her chest. “I am mortified. I can’t believe you two sat there talking about Mr. Happy right in front of me.”
Zack laughed. “Well, he asked. And to a man, that’s a pretty damned important organ.”
She pushed away from the wall and sauntered toward him. “To a woman, too.” She reached down to stroke him. “I wonder what a little hands-on physical therapy would do for him.”
Zack hissed. “I say let’s try.”
She leaned over to run her tongue around the edge of his ear. “You’re such a brave warrior.”
“Ooh-rah.” His voice was hoarse with desire.
